ADA Compliance Testing

Many companies struggle to make their websites accessible to everyone, risking legal issues and alienating potential customers. Smooth Fusion will help you navigate WCAG guidelines to ensure your site is accessible and usable for all users.

Are Automated Website Accessibility Tools Enough?

Many companies rely on automated tools to detect end-user accessibility issues on their sites, but these tools have limitations, resulting in some problems going unnoticed. At Smooth Fusion, we combine the efficiency of automated testing with the accuracy of manual testing to ensure your website meets the desired level of ADA compliance.

How We Include ADA/WCAG into our Processes

New Website Projects

When building a site from scratch, we design according to WCAG standards. This helps ensure compliance with all elements from the very beginning.

Existing Websites

For existing sites, we use a combination of automated scanning and manual testing to detect ADA compliance issues and create a plan to fix these issues.

  • In addition to our developers being trained on ADA/WCAG best practices, they use tools that automatically check modules and elements for compliance while a project is in active development.
  • When development is complete, an automated scan is performed on the entire site and then its handed off to our Quality Assurance team for manual testing.
  • Our Quality Assurance team will manually test your site and different site elements that either can't be scanned or are commonly missed during automated scans.
  • Our basic level of ADA compliance testing meets the requirements for most of our clients, but our team creates customized test plans for companies that require more in-depth testing and a strict adhearance to WCAG guidelines.
Website Accessibility

Isn't Just for Those with Disabilities.

Website accessibility doesn't just benefit those with disabilities but can also help those with temporary injuries, non-native language speakers, mobile users, and aging populations. Accessibility ultimately benefits all your website users and communicates to your site visitors that you are thinking of all your potential users.

Why Prioritize Website Accessibility and ADA Compliance?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) help businesses comply with laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and other regulations, reducing the risk of lawsuits. Although limiting legal challenges your company receives is good, companies should follow WCAG because it's the right thing to do. It can also increase overall user experience, expand your audience reach, improve SEO, and demonstrate your brand's commitment to inclusivity.

Legal Compliance

Any business risks being sued for failure to follow WCAG guidelines. In 2017, the standards of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Communications Act changed. As of December 2024, these guidelines are undergoing significant updates with the release of WCAG 3.0.

Accessibility for Everyone

ADA compliance ensures users have access to all of your website's content. Web accessibility often overlaps with good user experience practices, providing features like more intuitive navigation, faster access to content, and more clarity—ultimately making your content usable and more enjoyable for everyone.

Improved SEO

Many SEO best practices and website accessibility guidelines are closely related, so prioritizing accessibility can help with overall site optimization. Both aim to improve things like ALT text, navigation, faster load times, captions, and overall user experience. Companies that prioritize ADA and website accessibility when building or redesigning their site also experience SEO benefits.

Brand Reputation and Inclusivity

One of the best ways to show your customers and employees that you are dedicated to inclusivity is to have a website accessible to all users, especially those with disabilities. As your company continues to prioritize digital engagement with your customers, you want to ensure that you keep your commitment to inclusivity by not neglecting those with disabilities.
